Wedding Program Thank You Message Wording

Linux games ... the great desire of gamers Linux users. Hayles if any, but few or leave late. But there is always an adventurer who risks. There is a game called Mystic Mine has been developed independently, ie there is no big company behind as idSofteware or
Blizzard.

not recognize player, but I like to watch people play because it is truly amazing the dominance they have.
Mystic Mine's case is somewhat curious, as its developer, did not think it sold for Linux:
Before releasing Mystic Mine, I honestly Had no idea if it WAS going to sell on Linux. I expected it to sell well on Mac OS X and Windows, Other indies Because Report this Already Have, But on Linux, I Had absolutely no idea. My initial thoughs Were That Are Used To Linux users getting quality stuff for free, so I did not expect Them to pay for software. So Would They pay for games? Probably not. But now I know how wrong Assumption That WAS.
It turns out that the best-selling version is the Mac OS X and the second best selling is to Linux. As the author says, it's funny because Linux users are accustomed to quality and free software (not free). Not expected to have more successful version of Linux than Windows. In your statistics, you can see that visitors to your site are mostly first Windows platforms, Mac OS X Linux second and third.

But in sales, Mac OS is the one that ranks first with 42.72%, Linux second place with 33.98% and the Windows third place with 23.30%. Other statistics that has made this developer is the number of visits per platform related to the number of licenses purchased. Ie Linux users every 232 visits, 1 purchase the game. Instead, each 526 windowseros visiting the web 1 purchase the game. For Mac, relationship-purchase visits is 256. Stated percentage at 0.43% have Linux, Mac OS X 0.39% and 0.19% Windows. Not bad.

I hope that this developer is given the business very well and succeed ... and do not forget to Linux when rich and famous;)

On the other hand we have those Idsoftware . They have not released their new game engine for Linux. Apparently, it is because there is no demand, there is insufficient number of players. This is a shame. Idsoftware not the biggest fan of free software, but has released versions of their games to Linux and has done some other things in the world of free software. In fact, have this

page is not much, really, but it's something. One of its engines was released under the GPL, as seen in this link

. And

use open source software projects. So I say it's a shame they have not released their new engine for Linux.

In a post

of TTimer (Linux programmer Idsoftware), we see that says it believes Linux possibly carried this new engine:

IDTech

As far as 5 (the Rage engine), it runs on PS3 and Mac already. Setting up IDTech 5 to run on early Platforms Those on In Our Development cycle Was a direct result of Carrying Linux / Mac support in IDTech 4 beforehand. It is likely I Will Be Involved with IDTech 5 in the near future, I'll be damned if don't we find the time to get done Linux builds.

Let's hope so and that Idsoftware are encouraged to join our big family:) stats

We believe that commercial software companies and developers can work together and participate in open source projects.

The organization pro-Linux, Open Invention Network , buy 22 patents belonging to Microsoft . A curious case after years of accusations of patent violation against the open operating system has made the main global software company. OIN, consisting of large technological deals buy patents to use your protectionist mechanism to advance the development of free software against companies that use patents to stifle innovation. These 22 patents were sold by Microsoft to Allied Security Trust (AST) at the beginning of the year and formerly belonging to Silicon Graphics. Are related to Linux and the graphics subsystem and hence the interest in ISO for purchase. Bizarre story, but critics say so the threat of the business of software patents , used on countless occasions some companies called "patent trolls" that used exclusively for non-stop innovation.

its patents to any company agreed not to use its contents against the Linux community

. The transaction is expected to be signed this week, but financial details were not disclosed. The ISO believes that getting these patents is essential for protection Linux developers of expensive lawsuits. 434px-Tux-viking_svg

Ubuntu Eee, its name was changed shortly after EasyPeasy . A couple of days have released version 1.5 this distribution.

It aims to provide an optimized system for use in netbooks, ie on computers with a reduced performance, less powerful processors, smaller screens, ... Therefore, includes a kernel compiled specifically for it and a much faster boot.

EasyPeasy
This version includes support for more
ultraportable models, updates to applications such as Picasa, OpenOffice.org ... and takes up less disk space, something important on computers where this is always rather small. It is based on Ubuntu 9.04 and used as ext4 filesystem.
